The heck it doesn't! I was emailed about 2 months ago that I was muted for 30 days. The post that was the offensive one was someone else's. BTW, my muting was never lifted in spite of emailing them.
Not only was I muted for 30 days for a post that someone else made, but they never unmuted me after the stated time. They never answered my emails either.
Etsy needs many things, this is not one of them.
