This new admin sucks. I agree with ETC is not your diary - HOWEVER - ETC IS for talking about everything other then business.

Ok, the thread was getting nasty and neeed to be closed but damn just say "please respect other members, blah blah bla" closing post like all other admin, why get into such useless detail about it.

Who does Etsy admin think they are in that they can speak for MySpace? The new admin needs some more training in being a forum moderator, methinks.

June 12, 2009 at 1:09:00 PM EDTI think she needs to stop trying to set herself apart from the other admin and just fall in line using the same thread closings the others use, at least until she learns how to type without sounding so frigid.
She obviously has no tact when it comes to closing a thread... as witnessed here and in many recent closed threads.
I think the OP sounded a little self centered. Maybe it's just the single unmarried perspective. Other people's kids aren't really the center of our universe, some of us have other interests. :-)

June 13, 2009 at 5:10:00 PM EDTOne of the first experiences I had on Etsy was an admin closing a thread with a patronizing comment right after I had made a thoughtful, long post about my position on something.
Etsy did the right thing when they started just posting snippets of the rules and very neutral bits on closing threads. That was annoying still, but PROFESSIONAL.
