If Etsy is going to promote sellers of their choice in places like the gift guides, I believe they really owe it to the users of their site to make sure the people they're promoting are legit.
November 9, 2009 at 3:02:00 PM ESTCan you imagine the reaction of someone new to Etsy who buys something from an admin-promoted area only to discover that instead of something handmade, their purchase is a mass-produced item from a wholesaler? I don't think there could be a quicker way to turn buyers off to the site.
Unbelievable! Or rather: perfectly believable, because Etsy clearly does not care enough to be professional.

They actually put a reseller in the gift guide?! Wow. GREAT job admin. Judging by the links, those pictures are characteristic of a re-seller. Most people could tell that from a mile away!
