If you can't afford diapers, then maybe you need to give up other things, like the internet......it's great to have your Etsy shop, but if it's not bringing you in income to even buy diapers, give up on the non-essentials!

Giving up the internet during a job search is suicide. And the cost is pretty minimal compared to daily living expenses.

Astraea - plenty of people give up internet during hard times in their homes.

Most (if not all) public libraries I've visited have a computer you can use that is connected to the internet.

There are also internet cafes here and there that could also be used.

Not having internet in your own home does not equal suicide.

I didn't say not having internet is suicide. I said not having it during a job search. One needs to spend a lot of time online to conduct a thorough job search these days. Going to a library involves gas money, time spent away when one could be multitasking, checking e mail only at certain times of day. Libraries have restricted hours of usage. There may not be a net cafe in the area. All of these things make a job search that much more difficult.

The little bit of money saved is not always worth it in terms of the resources the internet provides. It's a judgment every individual has to make, not one we should be judging with no knowledge of the situation.
